The Art Institute’s Online Division and Alienware
Sponsor Contest for Video Game Artists
New York, NY – The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Online Division (AiPO) and Alienware are pleased to announce The Concept Art Competition, a contest that celebrates artwork from leading independent game artists around the world. The artwork was created as concept art for video game applications, such as characters, landscapes, vehicles and other game art renderings.
The competition will crown and reward two artists for their winning entries. One of the winners, “AiPO’s Panel of Expert’s Choice” will be selected by representatives from The Art Institute of Pittsburg, Online Division. The other winner will be determined by website visitors casting their votes via online voting mechanisms integrated into the program’s submission showcase. Votes will be tallied to determine “The People’s Choice.” Alienware will provide two Area-51® 7500 computers (MSRP $3,009 each) to the winning entries.
Mod DB is hosting the event and provides the ideal staging ground for this competition given its history and unrivaled platform for mod developers, game designers and artists to unite in effort to create game modifications, addons and independent games.
The Concept Art Competition is currently open for public judging on Mod DB through December 7, 2007. The results will be posted on December 15, 2007. To view and vote on your favorite artwork, please visit (http://www.moddb.com/features/23851/concept-art-competition).
